Ordering - How do I create an account?

To setup an account and create your own password click here. There is no minimum order requirement and shipping is free for orders of $30 or more!

Ordering - How do I add items to my basket?

To add an item to your shopping basket, simply enter the quantity you want and click the "Update" button. Your shopping basket will be updated with the items.
To see what's in your shopping basket, click on "Shopping Cart" at the top of the page. When you're ready to purchase, click on "Checkout" at the top of the home page (or any page displaying products). Faster shopping method? Click Here

Ordering - I can't log in...

After entering your username and password, be sure to click on the "Sign In" button. If you've forgotten your password, go here and click on the "Forgot UserName or Password?" link beneath the button that says "Sign In" Enter your email address, then follow the instructions to reset your password. Please note that if you registered with us prior to Sept 16, 2010 then your UserName is the same as the email address that you provided when you registered.

Ordering - What forms of payment do you accept?

We currently accept payment via Visa/MasterCard/American Express/Discover on our secure web server or you may pay via PayPal. Your credit card information is not stored on our web site. We do not accept phone orders or payments by mail. Accepting only these methods of payment helps keep our overhead low and that translates into lower prices for you.

Please note that international orders larger than $1250 (pre-discount) will require a wire transfer.

Ordering - Who can purchase from BlueMud®?

Anyone. No license is required and there is no minimum purchase necessary.

Ordering - Can I place a special order?


Please note the following conditions:

1.Items placed in a special order are non-refundable and non-returnable.

2.Since special orders are not returnable or refundable we ask that you purchase a sample of the item to ensure the product meets your needs before you request a special order.

3.Special order minimum is 25 pieces per sku number.

4.Because special orders are made in bulk, please allow for a 5% defect margin.

5.Special orders can only contain affirmation pendants or charms

6.Special orders less than $1000 must be prepaid using your bluemud.com account before we will place the order.

7.Special orders over $1000 must have a deposit prepaid of 50% using your BlueMud® account before we will order. Deposits are non-refundable.

8.We offer volume discounts of 15% on orders over $50, 30% on orders over $100 and 35% on orders over $500.

9.Depending on availability, delivery can take up to 5 weeks once special order is placed. Please allow sufficient time for order to be processed.

10.Unfortunately at this time, additional items are not to be included in your shopping basket with your special order purchase as it will delay the special order process.

Ordering - Will l be charged sales tax?

Only Washington state customers will be charged sales tax.

Please note that as of July 1, 2008 Washington state customers will be charged sales tax based on the rate in effect at the shipping address (as required by Washington State law).

Ordering - I live outside the US...

We accept international orders. Please click here for shipping details.
Orders larger than $1250 (pre-discount total) must be paid via wire transfer.

Ordering - I need to modify or cancel my order...

Unfortunately we cannot modify, change, exchange or cancel your order once it's been placed since our ordering process is automated and we do not keep your credit card information on file.

Ordering - How Do I Update My Account Information?

You now can update your account information by simply going to "MY ACCOUNT" on the home page. Here you will be able to update your shipping, billing and login information. You can also choose to be taken off the mailing list by checking the box at the bottom of the page. Make sure to click the “update registration” button at the bottom to save any changes you have made.

Ordering - I received an ERROR when trying to check out...

Make sure your billing address matches exactly to your credit card/bank info. Check the street number and zip code. If you still are having trouble, we suggest you call your credit card company/bank and ask them what address they have for you on file.

When entering in your credit card number, don't add any spaces.

When choosing the expiration date, be sure not to scroll with your mouse immediately after wards as it changes the date.

We have added a security feature called “CCID”. Make sure the numbers match. (There is a link with a picture if you need help). Please only type in the last group of numbers (3 or 4 digits).

You have not been charged if we deny your credit card for any reason. Your statement will show a hold for each time you attempt to use it. If we deny your request, we will not charge you.

YES! We offer free shipping on US orders of $35 or more! Simply select the free shipping option during checkout. We will ship your order via the US Postal Service. Estimated delivery time is 1-7 Business days after we ship. Other paid shipping options are available.

Shipping - What is your In-Stock Guarantee?

Our inventory is live. If you can order an item, then we have it in stock. We will never substitute a different item for the one that you ordered.

Occasionally inventory errors (miscounts, defective items, etc) occur which prevent us from completely filling your order. In that case, you will be issued a refund for the item. In addition you will also receive a free gift along with a coupon for free US First Class Mail shipping on your next order! (limit one coupon per order).

Shipping - How can I track my order?

As of July 1, 2008 delivery confirmation and tracking status is available if you selected a shipping option that supports it (see below). To track your package, click on My Receipts above and then click on the order you wish to track.

Delivery confirmation is provided for all packages delivered via the US Postal Service although the information provided by the USPS for international Priority Mail shipments is often minimal. Please refer to our Shipping Options page for delivery times. If you have not received your package by the maximum expected time listed there contact us at sales@bluemud.com. Please note that the expected delivery times listed in that table are in-transit times only and do not include processing time. We do not process orders on weekends or holidays.

You can view the status of all of your orders by clicking on "My Receipts" on our homepage. After you log in, you'll see a list of all orders you've placed. Click on an order to check it's status.

Shipping - What is the status of my order?

You can check the status of your order by clicking on 'My Receipts' near the top right of our home page. Click on any receipt to check its status.

The order status will be one of the following:
Pending Your order has been received and is waiting to be filled and shipped.
Shipped Your order has been shipped.
Held - awaiting customer response. Your shipping address did not verify. Please contact sales@bluemud.com to correct this.
Pending - special order You've placed a special order with us and should have already received instructions.
Cancelled Your order was cancelled.

Shipping - Can I ship to an address different than my billing address?

Yes! You can ship to a different address than your billing address.

At the time of check out you will be asked for your billing address (make sure it matches your credit card info exactly) and then for a shipping address.

Please note: we do not offer drop shipments - an invoice will be included in the shipment.

Products - What is the difference between Crystal AB and Crystal ABV?

AB (Aurore Boreale) is the effect applied to the back of the crystal, while ABV is applied to the front of the crystal.

Products - Do you carry...?

The best way to determine if we carry an item is to enter a search term into the "search box" on our website. Use partial words (example: To look up Sandal, type "Sand"). This will show you all the items we carry that include that search term, whether currently in stock or not. It will also tell you how many we have in stock.

Out of stock items are replenished randomly and we do not have a schedule, so check back often to find out if an item you want has been restocked (charms are usually restocked every week or two).

We do add new items often, but we do not have information as to what or when. If you cannot find an item you are looking for on our site, we recommend a search on www.google.com

Products - Do individual Swarovski® Bead and Pendant colors vary?

Yes. Slight changes in shades with Swarovski® Beads and Pendants are unavoidable. In some cases the shading varies to bring out the authentic look, as in the Dark Red Coral.

Products - An item I want is out of stock...

We restock product constantly. Charms are restocked every week or two. Other items are restocked more randomly and we do not have a specific schedule at this time. Please note that we do not currently accept backorders.

Products - How often do you restock your charms?

We restock our charms weekly. Typically we finish restocking by 6pm (PT) Friday. On weeks where Monday is a holiday, or during the holiday season where demand is heaviest, we may not complete restocking charms until Friday evening.

Products - How do I tell the size/weight of an item?

If you don't see the size, weight, description, etc of an item then click on the picture of that item. You'll be taken to a page which shows a larger picture and all the details for that particular item. We are in the process of adding the hole size of our beads to the description. However this may take several months.

Please note: all our product are measured as pictured (Chain: end to end; Charms: top to bottom, including jump ring; Toggles, Pendants, Beads and all findings: top to bottom)

Products - Do you have a paper catalog?

We are entirely web based and do not have a paper catalog. To get detailed information about a particular item (such as height, weight, etc.), simply click on the item. For charms this information also includes whether it is 3 dimensional.

There is no minimum purchase requirement.

Products - Do you offer free samples?

We do not send out free samples. However, you may order as few as one piece of an item and shipping is just $7.95 First Class Mail (orders under $35) and free for orders over $35 (First Class Mail).

Products - Do you manufacture custom jewelry?

No, we currently do not offer custom designs.

Products - Do you offer engraving?

Sorry, we don't do engraving. We suggest trying a jewelry or watch repair shop in a local mall.

Yes!   We occasionally send out coupons via email.  Make sure you have a valid email address associated with your account and that you have elected to receive email promotions from us.  You can edit this information by logging into your account and selecting 'My  Account' at the top of our home page.

Returns - What is your return policy?

Defective or Damaged Items

Check your order thoroughly upon receipt. As wholesalers, we cannot control how the jewelry will be used. Therefore any damaged or defective items must be reported immediately upon receipt of your order (within 24 hours). Defective or damaged items must be returned for quality control purposes and will be replaced or refunded solely at the discretion of BlueMud®. Sorry, but we cannot substitute a different item for any damaged or defective items. To report damaged or defective items and/or arrange a return, contact us. Note that a return authorization code is required prior to mailing back your return.

International Returns

Items shipped outside the United States cannot be returned.

General Returns

1. Returned items must match what you specify you are returning or we will not process it. contact us.

2. There is a 5% restocking fee (of the original UNDISCOUNTED  price - $3 minimum for each invoice) as noted on our website FAQ (does not apply to defectives or returns due to our error).

3. All items must be returned within 30 days of original shipping date, unused and in original packaging.

4. If the item you are returning was purchased in a multi-pack – the entire pack must be returned unused.

5. If the item you purchased is labeled “not-refundable”, please do not send back to us as you will not be refunded for it.

6. Shipping costs are never refundable.

7. The value of the items you return which incur a restocking fee may drop your discount level which may cause a loss in your discount (does not apply to defectives or returns due to our error).

8. Please do not combine different orders into one return: You must obtain separate RA#’s (Return Authorization Number). All orders must be shipped separately as they will be processed separately.

A return authorization code is required to return anything to BlueMud®. Packages mailed to BlueMud® without a return authorization code will be rejected and returned unopened to the sender.

To obtain a return authorization code, contact us by email and be sure to include your order number, the email you registered with us and a brief description of the reason for the return.

Miscellaneous - Is it real silver?

All of our jewelry is of the highest quality, 100% solid sterling silver (925).

Miscellaneous - Can I use your images?

Unfortunately we do not currently allow the use of our copyrighted images. We're working on providing images for others to use but are not yet ready to do so.

Miscellaneous - How do I gift wrap silver jewelry?

All of our jewelry is 100% solid sterling silver (.925). When wrapping your items, do not place them directly in paper, cardboard or cotton filled boxes as these contain trace elements of sulfur which will tarnish your silver jewelry. For best results, place the items in a sealed plastic bag or jeweler's sulfur free tissue (different from standard tissue) prior to boxing and wrapping.

Miscellaneous - What's with the name BlueMud®?

Our name is inspired by the sticky blue mud that plagued the miners of Virginia City during the mid to late nineteenth century. In quest of gold, the unsuspecting miners disposed of the blue mud by among other methods, paving the streets with it and paying others to haul it away. This went on until one day somebody had it assayed and discovered it was high quality silver ore. This strike became known as the famous Comstock Lode, the greatest single mineral strike in history. It made Nevada a state and fueled the building of San Francisco. We hope you'll find us an equally pleasant surprise in your online search for silver jewelry.
